Please help us maintain a peaceful environment by respecting the following guidelines: Outdoor Area Hours: The outdoor area is available for use between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. After 10:00 PM, quiet time begins, meaning no music or loud noise. Noise Levels: Please avoid making loud noise between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM to ensure our neighbors can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. Respect for Neighbors: If any neighboring residents report excessive noise or unruly behavior, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the property immediately and terminate the rental agreement. This could result in the loss of your security deposit and total booking fee. Guest Policy After 10:00 PM: Only booked guests are allowed on the property after 10:00 PM. Any visitors staying after this time will be considered additional guests and will be charged accordingly. &nbsp;Privacy Policy We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Under no circumstances will the details of guests be shared amongst individuals nor be distributed to third party organisations without prior consent. SecurityData collected from you while making this booking will be used solely for securing your booking. We use industry-standard encryption technology that handles your sensitive information securely during the booking process. If any bedding, including sheets, blankets, or pillows, is found to have absorbed smoke odours, an additional washing fee of $75 will be applied to cover the cost of deep cleaning.Odour and Cleaning Fee for Smelly Kitchen Items: If the kitchen is left with a strong odour due to improper disposal of food, cooking of pungent items without adequate ventilation, or leaving behind smelly trash, an additional cleaning fee of $100 will be applied.BBQ Cleaning Fee: A fee of $50 will be charged if the BBQ is left dirty and requires cleaning. The kitchen comes fully-equipped with cooking utensils for our guests to use; including a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, oven, and stovetop. This includes a lawn and small garden. Laundry facilities are also available for our guests to use.  The third bedroom is a sleepout which has been converted from the original garage.

The house is just a 5-minute walk to the Bryndwr shops – which include a bakery, sushi, a pharmacy, Pizza Hut, a liquor store and Thai, Indian, Chinese & Japanese restaurants. The holiday home is just a 30-minute walk or a 6-minute drive away from Northlands Shopping Centre – an extensive shopping mall. Just off Wairakei road, the holiday home is very handy to the airport and the City centre.

This beautiful one bedroom hideaway is perfect for couples or small families who would like to holiday out of the city and experience more of beautiful Canterbury. Located in Tai Tapu in a lovely property called Wooldale which is just across from the iconic Otahuna Lodge, this delightful cottage is in an ideal spot for anyone who wants a holiday with a little bit more privacy. 

It is a 30 minute drive from the Christchurch Airport, and a 25 minute drive back into the middle of Christchurch so it is the perfect getaway for people who would like a private holiday without straying too far from the city. The cottage has one spacious bedroom containing a queen bed, it has a comfy bench seat right next to the window, perfect for curling up with a book. There is also double doors leading out to a table and chairs for anyone who wants to sit out in the sun in the morning with a cup of coffee. The bathroom has a large shower, vanity and toilet. The kitchen is fully self-sufficient with an oven, stovetop, microwave and toaster, as well as a washing machine. The living room has a two-seater couch plus two chairs, a four-seater round table and a TV.

The land surrounding the hideaway is breath-taking. There are trees surrounding the large area and a great spot in the middle to set up chairs or picnic blankets to have some food or wine at lunchtime. There is a 5 minute walk down to a lovely area of native bush and pond to get a bit of exercise as well. Very close is the historical Otahuna Lodge and Gardens, a piece of New Zealand history. The restaurant in the lodge is also newly open to people who aren’t staying directly at the Lodge if it is booked in advance.

Otahuna Hideaway is a beautiful place to holiday and relax away from the city. There is plenty of space to park cars to do the 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk away to get to the delicious Raspberry Cafe which has some amazing food. The hideaway is also a 6 minute drive and a 50 minute walk into the centre of Tai Tapu which has a great restaurant and cake shop, as well as a library and a golf course.
